Great Think Coaching From Bob Skura!

You should never choose a coach for what he knows!
If you do you can only grow to his level of expertise. You should choose a coach for the way he coaches.
How many ways are there to coach? There have always been and always will be two distinct coaching methods. One is Outside-In coaching and the other is Inside-Out coaching and you need to know the difference.
The Outside-In method has the coach directing the student. The coach is the master and student is the disciple. It sounds great but there’s a bit of a problem.
The success of Outside-In coaching is dependent on four factors. First, the coach must possess a specific expertise. Then he must have the skill to communicate his expertise. Third, the student must be willing to learn, and finally, the student must be capable of implementing the concepts the coach is teaching.
Phew! These four factors don’t always align as perfectly as the stars above. The result is that players with tremendous potential often end up in the trash heap because they get out of sync with their coach. That player could be you.
Inside-Out coaching on the other hand is dependent on the inner potential of the student. The coach uses special techniques to tap into and release a person’s inner potential so that the student can become all that he or she is meant to be.
Bob Skura is my mental game coach. Jon Mills, Nationwide Tour Player
Bob Skura uses the Inside-Out model. It’s not for everyone. But if you want to play with the same enthusiasm you had when you were a kid and if you want all of your creativity to be given a chance to flourish then the two of you would be a great team.
Bob developed his Inside-Out coaching style through professional training and over a long period of time. In fact his book, How Great Golfers Think-Perfecting Your Mental Game is written in an Inside-Out manner. If you’ve read it you’ll notice that the main character ‘Doc’ guides the other characters rather than forcing them into compliance. Bob's CD, Peanuts, Pianos & Pavov’s Dog, does the same.
If you like this approach you should find out if Bob should be your coach. Call him at 519-748-1135 for a free introductory evaluation session. Within a few minutes the two of you will be able to tell if yours is an ideal right coach-player relationship.
